Ethekwini Hospital has a dedicated 24 hr Emergency department
staffed by professionals who are specially trained in Emergency
medicine.
The goal of the Ethekwini Emergency department is to immediately
assess and stabilise injured patients, providing life-saving
interventions before referring them for further care and
treatment either within the hospital or to state facilities
where indicated. In addition to state of the art equipment and rapid response
times, our staff provide the highest standards of care and are
able to provide assistance and support to families as well as
patients.

Injuries on Duty (IOD)
Workplace injuries have specific reporting requirements in terms
of legislation. Ethekwini Hospital has a workplace injury
specialist who will take care of the administrative requirements
for such events.
